Hi,

After two years of silence, the discontinuation of Orange's personal pages in 2023 provided an opportunity for a major update of the family tree.

This new site aims to be compatible with the most common devices (mobile phone, laptop, or large screen).

The main updates:

• I have continued to illustrate the ENGLER / MARTIN / MEYER lineages with photos from the Maxime MEYER Fund deposited at the New Caledonia Archives.
• The profiles of the volunteers from the Pacific Battalion have been enriched with a link to their page on the site Histoires de Français Libres ordinaires - which I have often also supplemented when I could. I took the opportunity to add the ancestry of Pierre DUPONT, initially to put names to his World War II photos, and then I got caught up in it... I always find it interesting to try to understand the circumstances that may have pushed or forced people to cross the seas, and then how, a few generations later, young people (but also older individuals and some women) risked, or even gave, their lives to defend this motherland that, for most of them, they didn't even know!
• The PERSAN / BENIER as well as CHENEVIER or CHENAVIER lineages have been completed to connect the New Caledonian branches with those from the hexagon
• The PERRAUD / SPAHR / DUBOIS / LE BOUHELLEC lineages have made a significant leap.
• Three witches have entered this tree! I particularly recommend the profile of Madeleine wife of Humbert THON, as well as Barbe BERNARD and Dimanchette MILLAN.
• I keep updating step by step the family tree with articles or sketches from Calédoniens by Patrick O'REILLY, published by the Société des Océanistes. Some of these articles were already transcribed by Bernard BERNIER.
• Some of you have informed me of some changes, additions or corrections. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Cléo, the only baby announced, unless I am mistaken, in 2024!

• if you don't like a picture, or consider you have a better one or that gives a better idea of that person, feel free to contact me.
• if you would like to speed up the site illustration, please do not hesitate to directly provide scanned pictures!
• I actually have much more material to share. I must have recovered nearly 155lbs of documents and photos from the BOISSERY / CHENEVIER / ENGLER / MARTIN / MERMOUD / MEYER / MY and PERSAN. families. But given the volume, it would take several lifetimes to sort everything! Otherwise, the documents have neither gone to the dump nor sadly gone up in smoke!
