Hi,
After more than 1 year of silence, here is the version 4 of the family tree. Since Wanadoo is now renamed into Orange, please note the new link (the old one is automatically re-routed to this one, and FYI, this link usually is part of my e-mail signature):

The main changes since July 2005 are:
BERNIER ancestry has been deeply updated.Lily MY originally compiled it in the 1930's.Jean MY updated it later on in the 1970-80's. Then I handed it over thanks to CGNC microfilms regarding the Bourbon island's period and writing to various record offices (in Australia and France). However, I have never succeeded to go any further thanAlbert BERNIER and Marie-Anne PASCAULT DE LA JONCHERE from Tourraine, France. This is now over:Claudie and André HERON have forwarded to me a link to theLOUBERT 's web site (www.loubert.org, broken down at the moment).- I have got in touch with several other
BERNIER relatives on http://www.geneanet.com:- I have imported
Jean-Thierry BRAULT 's compilation (Geneviève GASCOIN 's son in law) as well asJulien BERNIER - Marguerite DESCHAMPS section thanks toBernard BERNIER . - For whose wondering about our connection to
Ferdinand DE LESSEPS andNapoléon III : This connection has been added thanks toPierre Yves LECLERC 's compilation forwarded byBernard BERNIER . Honnestly I would consider this connection as a very distant relation. Anyway, now it is available. I've put the minimum required to make the connection, if anyone is interested in more details, I'll add them. I have them.
- I have imported
La chaumière africaine fromCharlotte DARD has been republished at Editions l'harmattan (thanks toClaudie and André HERON for this precious information). I would recommend Doris Y. Kadish presentation as well as the bibliography, very usefull (some books are in English). My thoughts often went toJean MY . He would have enjoyed such reading very much. For those listening to French, the following link "C.A. Picard et J. Dard, auteurs. Deux Bourguignons au Sénégal au 19e siècle" by Daniel CLAUSTRE, is a very interesting 30 min presententation. Do not forget to activate the volume!
CHENEVIER ancestry has also hopped over a few generations, thanks toNelita CHENEVIER and Farino family meeting.ENGLER andBERNIER descendants have also been updated during another family party that took place in Paris, this time, last December. My thoughts go toFrançoise HUET who recently died. Too tired, she did not joined us. Some visited her the day before.PADDON ancestry has also very recently been updated in particular withJames PADDON 's exact date of birth. I have only partially updated this family data based onAlan Paul THOMPSON 's on-line family tree http://www2.tribalpages.com/. Indeed, there are some differences bewteen our two family trees that need to be clarified first. Thanks toColette and Ronald MARTIN for having introduced me toCatherine KALDIRIMDJIAN who has provided me with the link to this site. I've been looking for this particular date for so long!- The
HOISE branch has also been updated thanks toMadeleine HOISE andChristophe MICHELLE who died since then. - Some of you have informed me of some changes, additions or corrections.
All comments are, of course, welcome, especially, if you don't like a picture, or consider you have a better one or that gives a better idea of that person, feel free to contact me. if you would like to speed up the site illustration, please do not hesitate to directly provide scanned pictures!
For those who did not received previous e-mails, here are some additional information:
Each of you should find him or herself.
However, in order to preserve everyone's private life, only deceased people (or without date of birth) appear with their collected data.
For all the others, only given names first letter is mentioned, and research in the index or in the surname list is disabled.
M.A.D.M. RUSS
